The other half is thinking of replacing the roof on her mk2.5. I have had a quick snoop around t'Internet and there seems to be quite a range of options and prices available. Does anyone have any recommendations (preferably in the South of England)? Also, is a mohair hood worth the premium over a vinyl one?

Thanks,
SteveO...

Can only recommend Jack Smith in Swansea if you're prepared to make the trip - 250 squid fitted to your car, top quality, nuff said.

Take a day trip, mooch around the Mumbles or whatever while its done. Lovely.

Yesterday we took a trip out to Swansea to get the hood replaced by these guys. Thoroughly recommended. Good product at an excellent price (£260 including fitting).

I saw them recommended here and on the MX5 Owners Club forums. It's easy to see why.

Glad to hear it, another happy customer it seems!

To be honest, I had already picked up on these guys. I just thought I would post the question here to see if anybody had any recommendations nearer to home. You added to the weight of positive opinion. It became a bit of a "no brainer". The other half got her new Hood. I got a bowl of ice cream at Joe's.

Thanks for taking the time to post.

Yeah, I got the recommendation from the ocforum as well. My mrs is from down that way so it was a no brainer to combine a visit to her folks with a new roof for the baby. I hope Ray didn't bend your ear too much, man that guy can talk the hind legs off a donkey!
