I guess, I should also put something in the kitkar forums, but it's very MX5 related. I'm considering one of these http://www.retroforza.com kits. Apparent;y they don't change the weight much (if anything they're slightly lighter) I was wondering if anyone had any opinions?

Also, how difficult is it to get a 90HP mk1 back up to the power it should have? Eventually I'm hoping to supercharge to a shade under 200HP Is that do-able?

Cheers, Dan.

I'm not sure the kit-car people will be too interested as it's basically a body-kit.
Take a look on MX5Nutz. There is at least one on there already and a few people have seen them in the flesh.

The 90bhp 1.6 is not a detuned 114bhp engine. It's not a simple case of making a few tweaks to bring it back to spec - it was never that spec to start with.
Swapping the head for one off a 114bhp car will help but not totally bring it up to power.
Not sure 200bhp is possible with a sc on that engine. It's difficult enough with the 114bhp 1.6.
Again, ask on Nutz in the Forced Induction & N/A Power Mods section.

Buy the one that keeps popping up on Ebay...

He's been trying to sell it for years.

Its LHD but it'll be easier to make it RHD than to fit the kit.

Supercharged too, wants £4,500ish IIRC.

Actually, I'm after LHD as I'm in Italy. I might take his details and put in a low offer when I need it.

Is it just me that thinks that this is the way the MX-5 should always have looked. I'm an elise owner considering a change to lower cost motoring and the thought of a cheap MX-5 kitted out in this bodykit with a set of wire wheels and a lovely old school interior retrimmed with leather etc....cloud9

Be quick he's lowered the price and has a bidder.

Seems cheap too.
