Maybe I'm paranoid because in the last week the alternator has packed up on the Saab and the Puma has dumped all its coolant, but the Mazda doesn't feel as smooth as it could be.

Tends to be at low speeds, coming on and off throttle, using the clutch, it just seems to kangaroo a little bit.

My thoughts so far are: new HT leads (I understand they can be temperamental on the MX5), injector cleaner, idle control valve?

Anything else?

Before I changed my HT leads the car used to stutter when pulling away or when accelerating from a steady speed. Well worth the £25 to change them.
