Just amazed having picked up a 98R 1.8 Berkeley (which is basically the same spec as the Gleneagles from what I can make out, albeit without the tartan) with 75k and FSH for £2500.

Well I think once they get to a certain age, maybe 10 years old or so, it's no longer really about what year they are and what mileage, more about whether you know they've been looked after. I think I got a bargain for £2500 for a car that is 3 years younger than the one you're looking at and in really good condition, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it's not worth paying a slight premium for a car with a known history.

In short, then, I think it's a bit steep!

My first thought was £2500 too. Of course that is based on a very brief description and not having a chance to see the car...

It is really hard to value them without seeing them and the prices are all over the place.

Some traders want £2950 or more for early 1.6's whilst I just sold a mint '91 for £2100.

Conversely some people seem to really undervalue them or maybe are desperate as I've heard of nice 97's being bought for £2300 whilst I sell them for £3450- £3950 and some traders are asking £5000 or more !

So it seems to be its worth what you can get but condition and spec vary wildly.

Non PAS cars are particulaly hard to sell.
