Help needed with eunos

my mate has a 93 L reg eunos.
underneath the charge light there is a red warning light with a picture of a pipe with heat comeing from it .
When this light comes on it kills the engine.
We dont have a hand book available.
Can anyone tell me what this light is.????

Im sure thats the warning light to say the cat is too hot????

Yeah, that sounds like the cat sensor light. Either the cat's clogged, or the sensor's broken (usually the latter, from what I've been told).

I think you can just remove the heat sensor from the cat and it should go away. Not sure though as I've never had a car with a cat sensor. Check on Miata.net.
