Its Lower to the terra firma now and me saggy arse has gone hehe
Just spent the evening fitting 3 of the 4 shock/dampers to Kermit ,
the back only took 30 mins a side , It was dead easy .
Front was a mare as i had a seized bolt irked but soon got round that and then it got dark irkedirked ,
Wanted to get all 4 done today ah well ,
got new shock boots last week from auto link , cleaned and resprayed the springs cleaned the shocks up and free'd up the adjusters ,
took it for a spin with just the backs on and it feels a lot more planted, should be a proper grin machine with the fronts on ,
my nokia n81 stayed on the roof for the whole trip around the block as well hehe

pre lowered

and now (they still need to settle as its just come off the jack)

a shock

Nice, quite fancy some new bouncy bits for my eunos as she is quite soft ATM. How much all in?

Just done the last one , sooo much better , i got the shocks on ebay , £62 i think they were , just gave them a good clean before fitting , a vast improvement on the knackered original units , there is a set of bilstiens on ebay with a broken spring .

  • Stupid question*
So I can just get smaller springs and put them in?? And that will lower the car??

Essentially yes. But you need to make sure the shocks can operate effectively at their new length or you'll need to change them as well..

Ah I see ok, So leaving it the pro's is the best bet i guess.

Checked shocks with the wheels off and I think they are blisteins (any good)..springs look abit grotty though with the coating cracking and peeling off...

My '89 Eunos is a bit soggy at the back - I don't really want to lower it though, just firm it up a little and if anything I think it could suffer coming up an inch from where it is. Thing is I only seem to be able to obtain springs that lower the car - I'm fed up feeling it hit the bumpstops!! Can you get original spec springs to replace tired ones and restore the correct ride height?

And now one of the bds has let go and dumped its oil frown shat my self coming out of a bend and the car just went velly sideways and felt soggy .... sooo been to mx5heaven and got some potenza street tune adjustables to go on , just have to jack it up swap the new boots over and start again frown , i think i might go with original springs , its nice being low , but the underside is taking a hammering.
