Major cambelt service..... rough cost?

Hi again everyone,

Need to get my cambelt changed on my '93 1.6 MX5. It's done 118000 miles and it was last changed at 60000 miles so it is due! I am taking the car on a 2000 mile trip next month so I don't want to leave anything to chance!

Just wondering what I can expect to pay for this kind of service? My alternator has also just packed up so I can see this becoming a very expensive month! I need to get the work done in the first week of June.... can anybody recommend anybody that's good (and cheap!) in the Tunbridge Wells area.

You want to go and see Mark at Freelance Mazda in Chatham. He is cheap and really knows his stuff. Do a search on the MX5OC forum to see all his recommendations.
