1991 J Plate 1.6 Eunos Roadster.

Black with tan leather (bit frayed). 112,000KM. Just had full engine rebuild. Nice alloys, glass rear screen, lecccy windows and air-con. Chrome roll over bars. Very clean.

£3,000

Mates got it up for sale for a fair bit more than that but he's an MX5 nut and wants to get me in one. Any opinions? smile

To give you an idea on price i paid £1400 for my eunos, which sounds the same as that but without the leather on a K plate, with 80000km and very dodgy alloys!

So it's a lot of money then?wink

Could I get a slightly modified one for £3k? It seemed a bit slow (I know I'm comparing it to TVR's and Porsches) but I'd still like a bit more poke. Even if it is just for the summer smile

I'm looking for one at the moment too. That sounds at least £500 too much by my research.

My concern would be the engine rebuild. Why's it had that? It's not normally something required until very high mileage...

That said if they have used nice strong parts it might be ideal for introducing a turbo/supercharger.

Turbo kits here seem the cheapest:

Me too, i paid a similar amount and mine has a few mods as well. £3000 is far too much for a car of that age.

rip off, i paid 2.8k for one with decent alloys, and it had an aircon and 65k km on the clock.

Slightly off topic, but I saw someone, presumably from the owners club, selling a BBR Turbo for £9750!! yikes Must be nuts!!

Agree it's way overpriced. I paid £1900 5 months ago for a K-reg Eunos S-Spec with 112K miles on the clock, no rust, a decent hood, completely straight suspension geometry and good springs, bushes & Bilstein dampers. A/C, PAS, power windows blah...

I'd have paid more for the car if it had come to it, admittedly, and that some swine has at some point replaced the original BBS alloys with those bloody awful generic crap minilite-clones that Mk1s have. But I wouldn't be paying £3k for a standard Mk1, especially as this seems to be 'mates' rates'.

Do get one though; they're brilliant!

Was it a Le Mans BBR Turbo? Those are worth a small fortune.

Our track car is a nice silver Mk1 with all the usual Eunos options (leccy windows, AC etc and also came with chrome style bars, wind-blocker etc which is in decent condition (i.e. it's a very good runner that is straight and ho no rust whatsoever) and only cost us £750 smile

Nope just a normal BBR. It was red. To be fair to him, it did look to be in very good condition and the engine bay was immaculate, but still, that's an awful lot of cash for something like that. It would be miles easier to buy a decent mk1 and spend much less than that to have more of a car if you see what I mean?

probably a typical oc member with no idea what their car is worth - think cos it's shiny and doesn't cover many miles then it doesn't lose value...
