Offset or straight?

looking to order some chrome indicator bulbs for the front of our Mk1. Does any one know if thns are offset or straight?

You're right - I went out and took one out last night to check. I've ordered some silver ones from Body-kit.co.uk

Why?

Regs state they must illuminate amber.

Never had a problem on any of my cars.

If they are E marked, I don't see how they can fail.

White bulbs for coloured indicators are E-marked and will also fail an MOT when fitted to clear indicators. Just because it's E-marked doesn't mean it'll pass an MOT.

The MOT states that lights must illuminate to the correct colour.

On what grounds does a silver bulb, in a clear indicator lens that illuminates amber fail the MOT?

They probably have a colour chart that shows what is meant by "amber". If the silver bulbs don't match then they will fail the MOT.
