How much for a J plate?

I know someone who has an MX5 for sale but its been stood for at least 18 months not being used.

Its a 1.6 uk car. Don't know miles. Blue. Think it has a bodykit on and a spoiler.

As its been stood what problems can I expect? Brakes seized? Anything else?

Oh it needs a new hood too. How much would that be?

Last time I checked a good quality new hood fitted was £250, maybe it's less now.

It's difficult to say how much the car is worth without seeing it. How is it rust wise? What condition is it in mechanically? Does it have a hardtop or other sought after upgrades?

Most importantly, what is the owner's opinion of the car? If they don't know much about it you get get a sub £1k bargain as it has been standing.
