Clunk, cer-clunk, clunk...thats odd
Discussion
Ok people we have a noise thats appeared. When going slowly and using the brakes lightly. Say coming upto a red light and just gently drifting to a stop. I can hear a gentle and not evenly spaced clunk, clunk....clunk noise. Nothing at high speed (that I can hear), nothing through the brake pedal.
Any thoughts?
It's almost as if 2 oily pieces of metal were "shifting" say a mm against each other, then as the wheel moves they shift back.
I cant find anything obviously wrong on a simple peer under the car/through the wheels inspection. But if I get time for a better look it'd be nice to have some pointers... Otherwise I'll get the mechanics to have a look on it's 100,000mile service.

Could be the brake pads moving in the callipers. Are they near the end of their life? Are all the shims in place?
After 2 trackdays and 15-20k miles. Yeah they are worn a bit. I'd heard the pads could be "noisy" without shims but I've never experianced it so I was expecting more of a squeely noise if that was the problem for some reason. If thats all it is though then I shall ignore it until I replace the pads. Then if it's still there afterwards I'll worry about it.
