Classic Insurance without being bum-raped?
Discussion
I can't seem to find any classic insurers who can undercut the every day quotes I'm getting from 'normo' companies.
Can anyone reccomend a company?
Lancaster was my cheapest at £900 p.a.
I don't do much milage, either so a say, 4,000 mile limit, is not too much of a prob.
Help? Anyone?
Cheers,
Dan

Don't bother mate. These cars are so common and are so often used as every-day drivers that the best insurance deals are the standard insurance policies. I had a 5k miles limited policy a year ago but went back to a normal unlimited insurance (both AON) as it was only about £10 more expensive.
Try Hagerty.
I decided to insure one of my cars as a classic and they quoted circa £250 for the MX-5 or £200 for the Porsche. Needless to say the Porsche went on classic as quotes for everyday use were far higher than the '5.
The reason they gave for the Porsche being cheaper was simply that it's older. Unusual but fair enough!

Looking at the 2 posts above:
£250 for classic insurance compared to £208 for standard insurance.
Looks like standard insurance is the one to go for unless you get an agreed value policy (assuming your car is worth more than the book price).
Agreed, although bear in mind I'm a spring chicken at 23 so that classic quote was about half what I would pay for standard insurance. In my case it would have been worth it.£250 for classic insurance compared to £208 for standard insurance.
