hi all, im a serial car buyer...over 150 owned since '86..yes, i know, i have a problem!!!..anyhoo, just bought a cheap mx5..(i think...) and im hoping it wont turn into a money pit.!!!..picking it up tonight, 94 m reg 1.8, uk car, 82k miles and always been garaged..its being sold thru lack of use and has covered a meagre 1500 mies in the last three years, 250 miles since its last mot.....

..the car looks really good i think, with a mint interior. hood is excellent except the plastic window having two tears in it.....biggest potential problem is the rear of the sills...both sides are yucky to look at but seem relatively solid still....il have my tame grease monkey look at the car tomorrow and see if there is anymore horrors hiding away underneath, but i am hoping there are no major issues...iv budgeted £500 to put everything right...the car cost me £900 with 6 weeks mot and tax on it....so iv got 6 weeks to fix it up......

..i have my fingers crossed as i have wanted an mx5 for a long time......cant wait to see if they are as good as the press...the wee car joins a cinquecento sporting, a fiat coupe 20v turbo, a smart car and a civic coupe...tho if the mazda is a keeper, the two coupes will be lookingfor a new home.....

Congrats! Get some pics posted up soon so that we can all have a look. Providing there's no major problems it sounds like you've got a bargain there. I'm sure you won't be disaapointed.

Congrats - you'll love it.

Hopefully sills not too bad, common rot point.

Hello George, fancy seeing you here, I've missed your car buying escapades since laying off UKSaabs while I'm Saabless!!

You'll enjoy the MX5, I bought mine for a few weeks of fun, that was two years ago and I'll be keeping it, old skool fun with total reliability, love it to bits.
