oil pressure problem
Discussion
hi guys
as title suggests oil pressure on the other halfs mx5 dropping just below 30 momenterily (bouncing) on idle and on acceleration bouncing above 60psi which isnt necessary a bad thing but also on driving it it starts to tap quite loudly then disappears it sounds a bit like the tappets but doesnt happen when the car is idling. any suggestion? oil pump or pressure relief valve maybe?
cheers

Fit a genuine filter and do an oild flush and see what happens , ive got a dummy guage in mine so by the time it warns me my engines toast!
Ive also got a temp guage that wants to be a shift light

thanks for the reply i have changed the oil every 3000miles and used a genuine filter also i have tried wynns hla cleaner which didnt seem to do a great deal. the car has done 100k miles is it about time the oil pump was changed? or do they suffer with sticking oil relief valves? any opinions welcome
