Just got in from picking up a little 1992 1.6 mx5. smile

They drive much better than I thought they would. Got a few squeaks and rattles that need sorting, but its a fairly solid car. Just bought it as a rundabout but I can see it staying a while!

Prepare for some newbie questions over the next few weeks wink

Pics pics!!! redface)

Congrats on the new purchase. I picked mine up two days ago but haven't had a chance to drive her properly yet save the motorway drive home and a trip to Sainsbury's (Top down, of course!).

And the reason I got it cheap:

Nice one Alex :-) Just bought one too, today! '91 Miata 1.6 in silver. Lovely to drive.

It was also advertised on eBay but I got there first!

Out of interest I own one of your old steeds (4.3BV) for when I want to go loopy for a couple of hours hehe

That looks realy nice! - Good bargain if you got it for that money, too.

What do you think of the TVR?

Paid £1625 for the MX5 (£1k on eBay was his start price with no bids). Looking for a hardtop now. It's fited with little 'race' mirrors which coupled with the misty rear window gives no rear view nerd

I love the TVR but find it tiring as my daily drive. MPG is bad and I think possibly the H218 cam magnifies the 4.3 trait of being jerky around 1500rpm. I suspect the thermotime switch may be faulty as it's hanging on to 2k revs; climbs back down eventualy though. Other than that it is great fun hehe the acceleration is remarkable yikes and I've had some pretty quick cars over the years. How did you get on with it?

I sold it cheap as it was juddery as feck.

Mega quick though, rips through the gears and the speedo! - 275bhp and absolutely LOADS of torque.

Ah good choice and like someone else has said it's the best colour!

Unfortunately it's like this at the moment:

Off to the bodyshop on Saturday morning to get a price to get the damage sorted... then the mods can start.
