Door Mirror loose

Hi the doot mirror on the drivers side is a tad loose making in vibrate as we drive down the road I took the door card off and moved the rain protector , that black crap goes everywhere ! anyway i thought id be able to get to the bolt from there but cant, can anyone help

unclip the plastic cover on the base of the mirror and then you can remove the 2 screws holding the mirror onto the door .

Sorry i forgot to add its an import with chrome mirrors

The base plate still has a plastic cover that hides the screws mounting the mirror to the door , Are they OE mirrors or aftermarket runabout etc ?

they are oe, part of the chrome pack on mk1 imports i'll stick a screw driver underneath an see if they'll budge.....nope the base plate doesnt budge do you think the top part would pop off.

done it. pushed back the mirror hard as it was stuck and theres the screws ! all tightened now .
