Bloody sealed beam headlights...

Always wondered what I'd do when one blew...
Is the best alternative to order a pair of the MX5parts ones which you can change bulbs in?

The MK1 lights are incredably easy to change Put the lights in the up position, remove the plastic surround and two bolts hold the unit in place..... What's the problem?

Thanks K - that's a great offer, but to be honest the only time I have to use the car after dark is Tuesday evening over the next few days so hopefully it won't be too much of an issue. I'm in Bromley so it's a bit of a trek.
Thanks anyway!

As Kinky said - dead easy! Less than half an hour in the dark
Be careful with the screws though, they WILL be rusted up, so be careful undoing them. In fact, worth letting some WD40 penetrate in first.
Had a quick drive in the dark (albeit on streetlit roads) and they seem a lot better!

Not that easy, I replaced my headlight lamps from mx5 parts and took the covers off and found the screws rusty and the rim absolutely a mess full of some sort of black sealant. Once I had put the new ones back on, the headlight lid scraped my bonnet and now its too close to the bonnet. Not lined up at all. If you look on the mx5 club forum under my posts shawtj2 you will see my piccies of the headlight lids. Ordered new rims now and so will have to take them out again soon and replace the horrible rims. Hopefully I will not damage the lid paintwork this time. Anyone know how to realign the lids???? Because I know no-body who can do it in my area, mazda garage know nothing about eunos's 'they said'. So now need a paint job also!
