Evening All,

I need a replacement "spring" for the drivers side clip that releases the roof.

Any ideas where I can source one?

Had a lovely afternoon drive with the roof down in the sunshine but noticed the roof was clipping in quite as securely as it should be.

Probably "easier" to replace the whole catch. I doubt anywhere will have just the spring. Although I could be wrong.

Could give these guys a ring.

No, the spring doesn't hold the clip shut, you can adjust the catch with a spanner.
Take a look at the mechanism behind the catch, there is a plastic cover over an adjusting nut. Flip the plastic cover open and you can adjust it. Don't make it too tight or you will damage the seals.

Or have I got the wrong end of the stick? Is the catch just not opening correctly?

The catch is opening correctly I just don't feel the roof is closing quite as "tight" as the other side.

Ah right. I thought you were saying you had 2 bit's of one spring. As Lazza says there is a way to adjust the catch to make it tighter.

Excellent! I think I wasn't describing it quite as well as I could. I'll give it a go next weekend.

Nice to have the roof down on Sunday though

DOn't wait until the weekend - it's a 30 sec job! When the catch is open flip the plastic clip back and adjust the thumb wheel. Job done!
