Just purchased a Eunos 1991 ,has been in the country since 2000.
Has a stainless steel exhaust and sounds pretty loud,very nice at idle but boomy at about 3000 revs eg annoying on a run.
Not that happy and looking to change things about,how do i tell if i have a Cat or a silenced decat pipe, wondering if the excessive boyracer drone is poss this, or that the rear silencer needs replacing??

The good news is that you don't need a cat due to the age of your car.
The cat will look like this:
If it's a decat then there'll just be a pipe with flanges welded on the end where the car should otherwise be.
I've heard that losing the car makes the engine a bit boomier, but a SS exhaust will make it louder. I have the standard 1.8 exhaust on mine. It did have a SS exhaust and no cat but a dodgy MOTer failed it and the previous owner put an original system on at great expense (1200 quid including cat
). 12 months on and it has a loose baffle and the end of the pipe is rusting badly 
Will probably get an SS back box and pipe at some stage.
