For those who want their MX 5 to be Different

I stumbled onto this while trawling Flea-bay

Now I like the MX 5 as much as the next person but does it really need this doing to it?

The AH Frogeye is on my list as a future buy but this isn't really a compromise.

I really don't understand what goes on in peoples head to build it in the first place, then for someone else to buy it??? He must have some taste to like a frogeye so how can he go so wrong and do such an appalling balls up copy!

the fact its an import and auto means she'll never hear about it, and i'd personally prefer the original frogeye with all the problems that entails...

it's the best colour by miles for an mx5.. problem is most of the ones in that colour are the original 89 and 90 cars it seems..!

Quick question for those that know.. (Didnt think it needed a separate topic). What is a J plate (1991?) Mazda Eunos (MX5 rhd import) worth roughly? Assuming reasonable condition etc..

Have you ever driven an auto mx5?
Two weeks ago i went to look at 4 mx5s and they were all dogs{early mk1s}except for a nice marina blue uk 5 on an l plate,left a depo on it and got home,did a hpi check and it was a cat c in 2005!
gutted!Next day went to view a eunos 1.6 locally,got there and it was an absolute minter in brg,tan leather,nardi pack etc.
Untill i looked at the gearstick.auto.
Was gonna get back in the car but thought sod it,had a drive and i thought it was fine,Overdrive button pressed in holds it in gear,admitedly you cant do donuts in it but didnt think it detracts that much in performance really.
Have only two fingers on my left hand though so an autos a bit of a bonus for me.
