National Event at Gaydon
Discussion
Anyone going? Spending the next couple of days sprucing of the wifes's 5 (bloody wheel refurbs, liquid leather/scuff master, repainting the calipers - never let's me spend this much time on MY car!)to take up on Sunday.
The OC are meeting at 07:45 at Rownhams apparently, so wondered if anyone from PH might be meeting up for a bit of a spirited drive?

Not meeeeeeeeeeee!
I was going but I fell out with the club this week............well, the forum anyway.
I dared argue with the forum mod's over an issue of double standards in the member's only area & have had my membership suspended, I also deleted several of my own posts that had links to pic's of my car.
Stating that I was not going to re-new my membership did not go down too well either (it's not due for renewal until mid December).
They can shove their click right up their aris, I'm a rebel now and there's no going back!
Gaydon has got nothing to do with the MX5 club anyway, they have just jumped on the back of another meeting!

Looking at the Heritage Motor Centre website there are indeed 2 other events going on at the time of the MX-5 OC National Rally. However, one is "Bike Safe Rider Skills Workshop" and the other is "Austin J40 Pedal Car Rally" and I can't see either of those being much of an event. As far as I can see it really isn't riding on the back of other events.
I've been to other National Rallies where it's basically just been a load of cars and a few stalls in a field which is ok for a little while but you quickly run out of things to do, especially when you've been to the last 7 National Rallies so I'm very happy that it's being held somewhere a bit more interesting.
I'm really not one for defending the OC, the forum has p1ssed me off too. I used to be a very regular poster on there - I have over 1500 posts on there but there are just too many arguments and too many people who are just there to cause trouble so I've given it up in favour of much more friendly forums (PlanetMX5, MX5 Nutz, Pistonheads, even SELOC and Lotus on Track!).
However (as was said on your OC thread) the forum is only a small part of the club and I'm not going to let a few forum dick-heads ruin my fun.

Also at Gaydon on the same Day: Motor Mayhem Summer School & Austin J40 Pedal Car Rally.
This is why the MX5oc choose Gaydon on the cheap: http://www.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk/events/club... (Super Rally - £500)
Remember..........if ya aint first, yer last!
