cant go wrong with the 5 , apparently having the thing lowered slightly improves the handling a lot as its been raised 35mm to meet saftey requirements in the uk

My single greatest regret about purchasing my mx-5 is that I did not do it sooner. I have owned lots of cars in my life, more than I have admitted to in my profile, but none have given me more happiness than the mx-5. They really are that good.

In my opinion, whether you spend £1,600 or £16,000 on one, you will not be dissapointed. Do it. Do it, now!

You know, having thought about it for a bit...............maybe an mx-5 isn't really the car for you.

May I suggest a Citroen Saxo VTR?

I had one for a couple of year really great cars, I just don't think that the MX5 measures up enough to be given iconic status IMHO. smile

both Myself and Fruitcake and at least one other on here have Larini exhausts (mine and Fruitcakes are the 3" tailpipe, and the other one is the 4" tailpipe.) But ours are MK1s rather than the MK3 but your welcombe to come over at somepoint and have a listen and a ride... or else next time i'm over in Yorkshire for a Harewood meeting (mid september i think - missing the August meeting next weekend)

send me an email when your ready and we'll see if we can work somrthing out

i think Fruitcake captured its well (well it sold one to me when my old exhaust gave out)

http://video.tinypic.com/player.swf?file=4v3keia%2...

as he said - a bit louder than stock when idling, fine around town... and deepens the yowl above 4k

of and added benift - increased my mpg! 33 normally before 37 after fitting it.

i've just had an offer come up that was worth considering, so popped in here to get the experts opinions on mx5's - but nobody seems to have anything specific to say about the icon...
