Is the MX5 engine the same as my 323f sport?
Discussion
Hi Guys, usually on the TVR wedge forum, got talking to a guy who said that the 1840 engine in my 1999 323f sport is the same as an MX5 engine. If so I want to fit a supercharger to it.
So if it is, whats the chance of finding a complete supercharger? Has anyone fitted one?. How much room is there? etc etc etc........ta like UG

It appears not to be:

FP
It should be noted that the FP engine is totally unrelated to the earlier F series engines with the exception of a similar name and capacity.
The 1.8 L (1839 cm³ FP is a destroked version of the FS, with an 83mm bore and 85mm stroke. It produces 122hp (91kw) and 120lb/ft (163nm). This engine is often incorrectly called the F8, which is the earlier destroked engine based on the FE.
Applications:
1992-1993 Eunos 500
1997-2001 Mazda Capella
1999-2000 Mazda Protegé (ES models only)
It appears to be a Mazda 626 engine.

Yeah, the engine in the MX5 is from the B series, it's a development of an earlier B series engine which was in the previous(80s-early 90s) revision of the 323
Agreed, but the 1998 onwards 323 didn't use the B series it used the FP series which is a destroked version of the FS engine. As in my previous post the OP should ask the question on Forced induction of the FP engine on:
