My wife has a 2003 Nevada. She went in for her service at Mazda the other day and she asked them to check out some unusual blemishing to the paintwork - around the bottom of the passengers door. It's clear bubbling, almost as if the top coat is coming off. I imagine it's only going to get worse, but Mazda say it's out of the 3 year warranty period. I thought body work had 6 years warranty? does paint work differ? She's been serviced and bodywork inspected every year at Mazda also. (which I didn't realise cost an extra £17 on top of the service cost!). Any advice most welcome.

Theres no sign of any previous repairs we bought the car about 18 months ago. I dont feel that paintwork should go like this on an 03 plate car. We had a L reg Mk1 before this and the paintwork was in much better condition!

Check your warranty & service booklet - it tells you the warranty periods and what's covered in here.
I suspect it's just the dealer trying to get away without having to bodywork on warranty.

That just looks like poor paint to me - like the lacquer is peeling. It doesn't look like rust which is what would trigger the anti-perforation warranty.
Hard to tell for sure from a picture though.

Was considering contacting Mazda UK to have a little moan i wouldnt expect that on a 4 year old car especially as the 12 year old one we had before was immaculate.

Anyone got any contact details for mazda uk?
