just received brake pads- am I being thick?

ordered brake pads and fitting kit from mx5 parts which arrived today.

Have I misunderstood what it is I require, I ordered x2 fitting kits and a box of pads, the box contains 4 pads, is this only for the one wheel, I.E 2 pads per side = 4 pads for the one wheel?

If so ive ed it up and have to order another box. Can someone confirm my stupidity?

I can confirm your stupidity

Brake discs work by clamping the disc between 2 pads - i.e 2 pads per disc = 2 pads per wheel = 4 pads for front 2 wheels.

Before you double confirm your stupidity the rear is the same as the front (but with different pads)
