Viewed a J reg roadster today 50k miles for £2,000.
Only concern with the car is that the Zip is jammed in the closed position. The teeth look fine, its just stuck fast. Will it need a new hood? Any tips on releasing the zip would be appreciated.

Thanks

Kinky

Sean - worst case scenario - a new hood is about £250 fitted.

Cheers Kinky - I was thinking around £450. I'm based in Durham. Can you advise of a place in the north east. That could repair/replace.

No wink

But - the BEST place (alledgedly) is somewhere in Wales where folks from all over the Country go to - because he's THAT good and cheap. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to confirm his details.

If it's just the zip and the hood is fine you can have the zip replaced.

My zip puller went once, if its zipped shut and stuck then surely its just the puller? could you use pliers to get it off. Costs about £6 for the puller.

If anyone does need a new hood then I can highly recommend Jack Smith Tanners as mentioned above. It takes him about 3 hours to fit, the quality of the hood, fit and finish is brilliant. I don't know how he can do it for £250!! He does the replacement zip out section for £30 if he has fitted it and you need a new one or £50 if not.

Picked the car up a few days ago. The zip loosened with a spray of WD40. The car sounds like it needs a wheel bearing or a drive shaft but apart from that I think its £2,000 well spent.
