Hi, not sure if this is the right place to ask for some help? I have a '96 Mk 1 and it stalls when it is hot (during a run)? Its not everytime and when i ask someone to take a look it doesnt do it??? Anyone had this problem or could give some advise on sorting it?

Try some redex (the one with a green label) could be clogged injectors , Has it been serviced recently and had filters changed ? might be worth getting that done and also what does it idle at ? should be around 850 rpm

halfords sell it , get the big bottle with a green lable , and put some in every time you fill up (full tank) mine was hunting all over the place and its helped , might be worth getting your throttle body cleaned as well .

Interesting one this....mine does it occaisionally when driving 'enthusiastically' and braking hard at a junction, it kind of dips, sounds like its going to stall and then recovers. Does anyone think this is a redex job too or is it something else?

HT leads dont seem to last long an the MX5, a set of Magnicor (around £57 )& new plugs work wonders.

you might find that adjusting the base idle is enough to sort this out. you'll need a small-ish screwdriver and a paperclip. (and someone to tell you how to do it - i got someone else to do mine!!)
