It's a fairly common problem. If you're happy to do a spot of DIY it's possible to replace the mast rather than the whole unit. About £15 (see here)
Alternatively, you could replace the whole unit (about £130 if you buy a new one).
I think it's also possible to replace the whole unit with a manually operated aerial (not sure about the price for one of those).
Door locks are pretty insubstantial and can often be tempramental. The cheapest & simplest thing to try first is to remove the door card and apply some silicone-based lubricant to the lock/handle mechanism.
