I guess this is the best place to ask this question.

I've been looking at a few mk1 MX-5's (1993 1.6) and realised that they aren't as expensive as I thought. Insurance is resonable @ £2K (18 year old) and you can pick up and decent one for about £3k to £4k.

What i'm asking is that are they easy to live with, cheap to service/run/mpg etc.

Thanks in Advance
Ian

you'll be wanting this thread http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0...

P.S. They're rubbish, don't buy one. It's people running around buying them all the time that is stopping them depreciating properly so that I can get one that I like wink

dunno what i've been doing this week, but since an oil, oil filter and air filter last week this week i managed to get 100miles on a quater tank, 170 at half tank... today was a bitch with the M60 at a standstill so doing 30 miles in 1st gear isnt conducive to economic driving...

but 170 on half a tank is darn good going for me normally on a commute

so reckon 270-280miles on a 40litre tank (and remember theres no 'empty light' like other cars (it weighed too much so they left it outwink )
