Air con / MPG test
Discussion
Prompted by a posting on the BMW forum, where someone said they always drove their car with the A/C permanently on, I thought I'd give that a go, just to see what impact it would have on fuel consumption.
So I filled her up, and left the A/C permaanently on, until I filled up again this morning.
And here's the numbers .....
Before this, I was averaging 29.64MPG.
With the A/C permanently on, I got 29.03MPG. Which I have to confess I'm astonished with. That said - I've also been driving the car on this test with a heavier right foot than I normally do, so that could in itself account for the 0.61MPG decrease.
I guess I'll be using the A/C more frequently that I have done up to now.
