After picking my MX-5 up last month I am starting to feel the need for a bit of a tinker.
After reading up I'm going to be attempting a oil and filter change, I'm also thinking about doing a new air filter. This might be a silly Q, but if I got a induction kit does that mean that i won't need the air filter any more?
I love the car, but I'm certainly thinking an induction kit/exhaust will make it sound that much sweeter above 5000rpm. Any help on what brands to buy would be great.
Thanks

Ive got a pipercross cone filter on mine , gives it a nice bark when you floor it , sounded better when the egr pipe snapped though
not what you want 80 miles from home !
I think my car has had an over fueling problem for quite a while and its all coked up , im going to get a cat replacement pipe , getting shot of that will also help the thing breathe better

Cat replacement pipe makes the car quite noisy - I'd describe it as having a 70's English roadster sound (like a Triumph Spitfire) which you can see as a good or a bad thing (I like it). I put the K&N replacement element in mine, keeping the original air filter set-up - no real noticeable difference unsurprisingly - but it'll clean easy when I next service it.
