MX5 lane assist / steering

tried the local dealer demo and was startled by the steering twitching as I was driving along. I realised that this was an EU enforced system but its one that I am not prepared to tolerate. So, when was the twitch first introduced - amazing though it might seem I have spoken to 3 dealers and none can tell me.

For the sake of clarity I have no problem with a visual warning though I would prefer not to have one. But I am not prepared to have anything that can move the steering. Even if it can be switched off at the start of a journey, an electronics fault could result in it activating without warning. So IMO its better if it isnt there are all.

So when was it introduced? I think the EU regs were 2024 but likely it came before that.
