NB - Hardtop or new Roof?
Discussion
I've had my 1999 NB for nearly a year, having purchased it off the original lady owner. It had covered only 38,000 miles when I got it, and it is in lovely condition. My dilemma is the original roof really needs replacing and can't decide whether to replace the roof with a new one or find a secondhand hardtop.
It seems the going rate for a new roof is slightly cheaper than a secondhand hardtop, not withstanding the fact I'd probably have to have it painted.
What's people's thoughts on hardtops? The car is my daily driver so is used during the winter.

A hardtop is useful, especially if it’s a daily driver in all weathers, but you are just putting off sorting the soft top.
If you don’t have a garage (for storage or somewhere warm to wrangle a soft top replacement - they are best handled warm!) then there is certainly a value in buying a hardtop to see you through to nicer weather.
I’m going the other way, garaged and weekend toy, so not fitted the hardtop yet - should just sell it!
