Mazda MX5 ND 2016 1.5 remap?
Discussion
Hi There,
I would like to improve the acceleration of my Mazda MX5 ND 2016 1.5, used most days. I understand that remapping the ECU can add 10% performance improvement, and costs around £500.
I have limited knowledge in this area and would greatly appreciate some advice?
Is this a good first step, for a 1.5 ND?
Is there anything I should be wary of?
Has anybody got any experience of remapping specialists in the South East?
Many thanks.

BBR offer a remap for the 1.5 engine which they claim gives an extra 20 bhp which is not a bad gain on a N/A motor for less than £500.
A full exhaust system and upgraded air intake might yield another 5 - 10 bhp, maybe more, maybe less, but that could cost £1000+.
BBR also offer a turbo kit for the 1.5 which would see you over 200 bhp but obviously the cost is significant, and at this point you could be better off just buying a 2.0, depending on your circumstances.
Is buying the larger engined car an option?
