Got the EML on a 2010 2.0 MX5 NC. Plugging it in showed a fault code P0421. Further investigation showed no signal from Sensor 1 Bank 1.

Looking online, the pre-cat (I’m assuming that is sensor 1 bank 1!) sensor is £138 from MX5parts, but a couple of generic motor factors have them for £30-50.

Are the cheaper ones any good, or is it best to pay for the MX5parts one?

Thanks

I’m no expert on the NC but it’s always better to try and get an oem or equivalent for parts like this.
I wouldn’t pay Mx 5 parts prices though.
I did find one for my NA recently on eBay for around £40 and it was a part made by Walker, I took a punt on it though and it’s been fine so far.

I had both fail on my NB sport , got OEM from MX5 parts almost half dealer supplied parts .

Just noticed I am about a month late with this , but I still hope it helps
