Following on from my thread 5 days in and problems, I've tried all of the suggestions without success!!

Next is to find a specialist to take a look, all suggestions gratefully appreciated.

Thanks

It may well be too far from you. North Wales, but you get a nice day out getting there. Mark has a good reputation and seems to care https://penrhynss.wixsite.com/penhrynss not ever used him as I tend to fix stuff myself.

Did the diagnostics software not tell you what was causing the issue?

Thanks for the recommendation, may try them for a service (and a day out in what looks to be a lovely part of the world)

The fault code relates to the left-hand side rear wheel speed sensor which I have ordered and will have a go at fitting myself.

They are a real pain to get out, they stick solid to the hub. If it was me doing it I would plug the new one in first and see if the fault code goes away before fitting the new one. You may well need to do the steering reset before the code goes. I ended up drilling the old one out with a drill bit about 1mm less than the sensor. It came out easily then. And the new ones then easy to fit.

Great, thanks for the advice I will plug the new one in first. I assume that I will have to dismantle the boot trim to get to the connector?

Once again thanks

David

Yep the boot trim is held in with simple clips. You can get at the connector by removing a clip and bending the trim out of the way. But may as well remove it properly as its easy.

I recently had a lot of work done on my MK1 by DFTR automotive in Dudley. Great service, competitve price and Adam is very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend!
