I was driving back to London from the Cotwolds yesterday and got stuck in alot of slower moving traffic (40-60mph). Rather than fighting my way past the MLM's I just sat in gaps on the 'lorry lane' with just enough throttle to stay in 6th gear. The fuel economy display was averaging 58mpg at times over the last 50 miles or so(!) I need to check the amount of fuel added when i fill up next but wondering if this MPG possible - and whether the turbo-charger was helping by improving cylinder-filling at low revs?

If that's a BBR turbo then the mpg readout lies! From memory the reason is that it's based on the injector duty cycle, bit the BBR turbo uses larger injectors so uses more fuel for the same duty cycle. I did measure mine properly at one point - I think it did about 32mpg if driven sensibly, but it's hard to show that much restraint
