Mk 1 rear brakes
Discussion
Just completed a brake job on the father in laws car, rear passenger side went well, adjuster screw wound the piston back ok.
Drivers side the piston only wound back half way with the adjuster no matter what I tried, adjuster wasn’t stripped.
I pushed it back with some water pump pliers and it was very tight.
I didn’t realise this was a bit of a no no from what I’ve read and am concerned I may have damaged something.
I’ve done about 30 miles in the car and that side continues to make a pad on disc scraping sound when driving.
It’s not binding and the handbrake works ok, I’m just wondering have I got a lazy calliper or has some damage been done by manually pushing it back?
