Windows fail to rise.
Discussion
Just a word to the wise.
The passenger window on my Mk3 Mx5 failed to rise recently.
Investigation of the Internet suggested the switch.
I ordered a switch from eBay as new ones are about £150.
However the new switch made the passenger window rise but the previously perfect driver's window wouldn't come up.
While I thought about returning the 'new' one for exchange I decided to dismantle the old one.
The contacts under the plastic parts of the actual switch were filthy.
5 minutes with a cotton bud and meths and all was fine.
So, to be clear, these are the copper coloured switch parts under the platic rocker of the switch. Nothing to do with printed circuits , purely the physical switch.
