My drivers side window is very slow to open - not too bad closing. I've sprayed Mr Sheen down the guide rubbers but not really any improvement. Not had the door card off yet but is it a cable or gear mech from the motor? I would like to fix it before it either blows a fuse/snaps something or burns the motor out.
Still loving this car - why did I not really notice them till I was 70?

Many thanks for the link - a very useful resource I hadn't come across before. I'll certainly have a go with the silicone grease but I'll also pull the panel off to make a thorough job - I can also spray the inside with Bilt Hamber products.

Many thanks again - all sorted painlessly! I had an old but working silicone grease aerosol and I fitted the straw from another type and lubed the whole of the front guide rubber and the rear edge of the drop glass (easier that way!). A few up and down cycles and it's now behaving perfectly - what a difference! Treated the passengers door the same just in case and even that is quicker than before - result!

Ian - a happy man in Orkney
