I have just had the 2nd annual service done on my MX-5ND.
Mazda offered me a 3 year Service plan beginning next year at 3rd annual service and first MOT. The cost over the 36 month period averages 70p a day. The car has only done 7600 miles to date, so isn't having a hard life!
Anyone used a similar plan? Opinions welcome...

Not on an ND but my NC2 came from a Mazda main dealer. They offered me a "Lifetime Warranty" if I took a service plan. From memory it was around £400 this was 5 years ago. I vaguely considered it then I found our local MX5 specialist was quoting £200 a year including an MOT. Also the whole buying experience was so bad that I wouldn't trust the MD with a tricycle let alone a car. They serviced it after an argument and said they'd MOT'd it which they hadn't. The service was done poorly & they didn't update the Mazda DRS for it!
My indy does it once a year.

Would certainly consider using a good independent around North Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire area..

If you are planning to stay with main dealer servicing it is cheaper to take the service plan. If you are going independent then you need to do a bit more research to compare prices. The service plan is transferable to a new owner but obviously if you are planning to sell before 3 years probably best not to take it

After speaking to a friend, I think I have found a reputable local garage to service my MX-5!

Main dealer servicing costs are just too expensive whichever way you look at it..!
