Mot time on the father in laws car and the exhaust is blowing so looking to put a stainless one on it.
Budget is £200.
I’ve measured the existing cat and it appears to be 370 mm in length.
I don’t really want to put a loud system on it so could someone tell me which is the quietest of the ones available?
The Mx 5 parts one looks good value.

I'd drop MX5 Parts, Moss etc an email and tell them what you're after and see what they recommend.

IIRC both the MX5Parts and Cobalt options 'drone' somewhat on DCs/Motorways, but I don't believe there's a lot of options out there for the budget.

The AKAutomotive 'Race' exhaust (for the non-cat 1.6) has a lot of character but is about double the budget.

Chose to try the mx5 parts one as retest time was running out, it’s a nice bit of kit and a lovely fit.
Has a nice tone to it, not too loud at all.

That's good to hear (no pun intended).

Please do come back once it's bedded in - I think they get louder over time!

Watching with interest. My Mk1 will be up for a new exhaust soon enough.

Fitted the mx5 parts exhaust, it was a trouble free lovely fitting bit of kit.
Sounds sporty but not over the top, only time will tell if it gets louder.
Not too keen on the tailpipe design but that's a minor issue.
