Hi All,

Read pads were an advisory on last MOT.

Decided to do them all around as not happy with the condition of the pads and the discs in general. Old and been on the car longer than the four years I’ve owned the car and look worse for wear.

Mazda genuine items with backing plates and shims and clips seem expensive from MX5 parts.

From euro car parts I can pick up the pads and discs all round for £130z
Now is it worth buying this bundle from. I presume the clips and backing plates are required. The old backing plates practically fell apart on removal.

Original with everything for just under £250

Fittings for under £25

With Brembo items added it’s about £150-160 all in.

Worth the extra for Mazda, okay to be without the backing pads and reuse the other bits?

Thanks.

Any good brand disks and pads will be fine.

I used to buy Eurocarparts cheapest pattern disks, and various big name pads over the years. Just avoid EBC, and don't worry about not using Mazda branded parts.
