MX5 mk3 headlight warning buzzer not working

The girlfriends MX5 isn't giving a warning bleep when she leaves the lights on. Any idea where best to look?

Mine gets on my tits so i'd think it was great, but has it ever worked and does the seatbelt trigger it when not worn?
