MX5 NA exhaust fitting issue

I bought a cobalt dual exit for my mk1 MX5 to make the car actually usable as the exhaust is horrifically loud.

Fitting seemed to go ok until today I went off the ramps and onto the driveway- the exhaust is clashing with the driveshafts...

Could this mean the decat (which I didn’t replace) is the wrong length or something else?

At a guess you have bolt on drive shafts?

Some aftermarket exhausts it seems don't clear them.

Ahh that’s a bugger! Yes I do have bolt on driveshafts and the exhaust is a Conalt one from Moss - I’ll call them tomorrow... do you know which ones do clear them?

I don't I'm afraid, I only know this as I sold one to a chap who had the same issues.

It might be worth looking at a driveshaft swap, especially if you don't have an lsd, good opportunity to put some upgrades in.

I got fed up of buying bits and trying them and it not being quite right so I bought a 4-2-1 manifold and new decat and it is now all on and working!

The issue was due to it being a Malian/Manzo from the downpipe and so wouldn’t fit anything else as the angles were all wrong.

All good now though !
