I think I have made the correct decision but am having a few last minute doubts.

I have a very tidy, unmolested 1989 Eunos roadster that I have enjoyed for over 3 years, but now need a car that I can use in the winter months and that my wife can use occasionally. I am worried about trashing a good NA with winter running, and more importantly the safety aspects particularly in bad weather. So I made the decision to change and I have a new ND MX5 arriving on Saturday. ( 1.5 sel nav+ gunmetal grey)

The ND is a great car and I am excited about its arrival, but does it deliver the same smile on the face experience? I don’t want to go fast but I do want to have fun. Have I made a mistake or is the Mazda DNA still running strong? I didn’t test drive it and so I have relied on the glowing car reviews. I went for the 1.5 as I think (hope!) it will be closer to the NA experience.

Too late to change my mind really, but looking to see if anyone has made the same change or if they run both side by side to reassure me that I will still enjoy my driving!

I haven't gone from NA to ND, but I did go from late model NC to ND RF. I've been very pleased, and really enjoy driving it (it can sometimes take a hour or more when I pop out to buy a loaf of bread smile). I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Lol glad to hear that the loaf of bread/ pint of milk test is strongly positive. Just what I was hoping to hear!

Well for anyone who is interested I can safely say the ND does not disappoint. I have driven 150 miles in it today just because I am enjoying it so much. Happy days!

I was going to hang on to the NA for a while as I was nervous about whether the decision was the correct one, but will be writing an advert in the very near future.....

I went from an NA VR Combination A to a ND RF and absolutely loved the changed!!!

The ND feels different and lacks some of the novelty of the NA, but it's a far more composed and capable car. And far better looking, in my opinion. I was also glad to be rid of the scuttle shake!

Month after next, I'll be a year into the ND and I haven't stopped loving it!

Cheers.

I can highly recommend Snows Mazda in Portsmouth . Was a pleasure to deal with Rob there.

I recently swapped from and NB to ND; very happy with the switch.

The ND is similar to the NB with a modern twist whilst maintaining the MX-5 DNA + all mod cons.

I had a mk2.5 for a short while. Great cars. I really like the colour of yours. I really liked mine too until I saw the state of the chassis rails and had sell it for parts...... they all rust but NB are the worst. Never again!!

These have both been owned in Aus, no rust issues here :-)

Aha! That makes a big difference. I find that my NA cabin gets very hot in the summer as the transmission tunnel gathers heat. Ok when on the move with the hood down but uncomfortable in traffic.
