Improving sound - quality not quantity!
Discussion
Hi all,
I'm thinking of making some changes to my 89 Eunos, in the engine sound department. I know there's tons of threads about which exhaust/induction etc., but what i'm looking for is a more raspy/crisp sound but ideally only at higher rpm....is there a way to get more race-car noise without the drony burbly low rpm noise that blights corsa and fiestas with 'big 'zorsts'? In terms of the sound I want, ITBs would be awesome but out of budget, the next fruitiest upgrades I've heard seem to be manifolds/headers (like this one), they seem to give a more tuned sound that's crisper/raspier rather than the 'woolly' muffled sound you seem to get from just a backbox, but would it be louder everywhere? What about induction options, how do they affect sound across the rev range?
As you've probably guessed by now I'm not too fussed about performance, more about enhancing the driving experience through the sound (although more power would be a welcome bonus ). Any ideas much appreciated!
