Hi,
Wonder if anyone here might be able to help me out?. I have a 1994 Mx5 1.8 That was initially turning over but not getting a spark. I managed to get a hold of a new(proven to be woking) CAS sensor and coil pack and changed them over. Firstly changed the CAS to no avail then changed the coil packs, then it started🎉🎉🎉🤗 but only for a few seconds then cuts out...🤦‍♂️😣
One issue is that the new coil pack(s) only have 3 terminals where as my old coil packs have have 4. As far as i understand it, the 4th terminal is to do with tachometer reading for speedo?. I'm lead to believe the engine should still run with the 3 pin coil packs though?. Any help/advise on this issue would much appreciated.

Cheers!.

Have you checked your AFM connection, intake and vacuum leaks? The 3 pin coils will work fine but yes you'll lose the tachometer.
