Is there anything out about the next MX5 ie mk5?

Any anticipated time frame to guess at?

Not heard anything and possibly a bit too soon?

Going from wiki 1st gen 89-97 (8 yrs), 2nd 99-06? (7 yrs), 3rd 2006-14? (8 yrs), 4th gen 2015 so nearly 4 years old so guessing another 3 or 4 years maybe?

An MX5 E would be nice.

I'm guessing the next one will have the new SkyActiv X engine. Nice and revvy but with lots of torque too :-)

Looks good. Shame there’s no hint of a date for introduction.

My best mate is MD of Mazda UK and I'm out with him for a few beers tonight. I'll ask him ;-)

Nice. Tell him to hurry up with an electric model as I’d like to buy a new one to keep in the next 6 months!

My mate couldn't tell me anything on future MX-5 plans, which is fair enough. The SkyActiv X engine is going to be an option in the new Mazda CX-30 later in 2019.

Hopefully it will fit 6ft4 drivers. The current ND is a smidegon too small but I regret replacing mine with a hot hatch. Mazda seem to alternate between tall and shorter drivers with each version. NC<NA<ND<NB(?)

Is this the soft-top or RF? I haven't tried the soft-top but my head touches the roof in the RF - another 1.5 inches of clearance it would be fine. I saw a grey one today and it reminded me of the fun I had in my NC Mk3.5 .. would swap my S1 back for one frown

Unfortunately it'll probably be a hybrid

RF with Recaro seats, I have the seat forward a notch or two and recline it as far as it will go, I found the Recaros gave me a touch more headroom than the standard leather seat, but on the American forums they say there is no difference.
