Mk 3 soft top Mazda luggage carrier allen key, what type?
Discussion
Hi there,
I have a friend who has a mk 3 58 plate soft top which he got recently and he would very much like to take off the luggage carrier off from the boot which the previous owner has left on. Clearly getting the bolts off the underside of the boot is no problem with a normal allen key is no problem but the bolts that are inside the arms over the boot (the ones protected by the small black grommets) are more difficult.
They seem to have some sort of security pin inside them which should mean that they need a special allen key to release them. If any one can help with which type this it would be very helpful. The instruction manual which we have downloaded is hopeless and makes no mention of type or size although it would seem to have originally come with the key we need.
The previous owner always had the rack fitted and bought it like that themselves and have never seen the allen key.
Thanks for any help in advance.

Looking at the fitting kit I can't work out if it should have those security screws/bolts https://www.autolinkmx5.com/boot-luggage-rack-fitt...
Given that they've got a pin in the centre they'll be a tamper-proof fixing. Is it a hex-head or a star shaped one?
Either way, a cheap bit set like this might do the job, but there are better tools out there (if you're planning on repeated use) https://www.amazon.co.uk/FineGood-Screwdriver-Magn...
